AMBER Drops New Heater “St Tropez”

There is a very specific type of scenario that only exists in public places. You see someone once, and suddenly your brain is writing fan fiction. Not just a scene, a whole arc. Backstory, soundtrack, future children, etc. It is unhinged behaviour and also completely normal.

AMBER’s “St Tropez” (out now via Now Listen) understands this better than most songs about romance. It does not bother with the relationship. It is interested in the projection phase, when everything is imagined and therefore perfect.

What makes this debut land is how knowingly it leans into that mindset. The details feel plucked straight from real life, not idealised fantasy. You can sense the hesitation, the curiosity, the internal commentary running alongside every glance. It is romantic but also a little dramatic in a way that feels very self-aware.

The music plays it cool. A smooth guitar line carries the track without demanding attention, giving the whole thing a breezy, almost effortless feel. It sounds like the kind of song you would put on during a long walk, replaying a moment that may or may not have meant anything.

As introductions go, this is a smart one. AMBER is not trying to sell a fantasy. She is observing how we create them, and that is a much more interesting place to start.
