Notice, the brainchild of Brandon Bruce, emerges from the Nashville, Tennessee, rock/alternative scene with the release of his debut album, Chapter One: Dreamer. Brandon performed all the instruments himself while additionally producing and engineering the entire record. Brandon’s meticulous craftsmanship ensures that despite being a solo endeavour, the album resonates with the vitality and depth of a full-fledged band. “This was important to me since Notice is intended to be a band”, says Brandon.
Chapter One: Dreamer is more than just an album; it’s an invitation for listeners to embark on a journey of self-exploration and expression. Brandon emphasises his commitment to authenticity, stating, “When crafting music, my focus is on personal expression rather than catering to a fanbase. I believe this approach creates the most authentic sound for an artist.”
Notice’s debut album, Chapter One: Dreamer, serves as a window into Brandon’s life, thoughts, inspirations, victories and challenges. Reflecting on his vision for the album, Brandon reveals, “When I approached this album, I imagined a vinyl record, so I crafted Side A to be high-energy rock anthems and Side B to be an introspective acoustic journey.”
One of the standout tracks from the album is “This Love”, a punk rock anthem that offers a fresh perspective on George Orwell’s classic dystopian tale, 1984. Brandon was inspired by the often overlooked love story nestled within its pages. “This Love” follows the fate of two lovers torn apart by an oppressive regime. This energetic punk track, with its driving rhythm and emotive lyrics, stands as a powerful reminder of the fleeting nature of love amidst adversity.
