Vilhelm Buchaus, the 22-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter, has once again graced us with his musical prowess via his latest single, “Together”. This poignant composition, released under TEN Music Group, delves into the emotional aftermath of a breakup, skilfully blending heartfelt lyrics with beautifully crafted piano arrangements and grand drum rhythms.

Vilhelm’s journey in music began at the tender age of six, strumming homemade guitar chords in his bedroom. Over the years, he has evolved into a seasoned musician, upgrading to a real guitar and honing his skills as both a songwriter and singer. With previous singles such as “First Cut”, “Take Me To The Moon”, “Nothing At All” and “All In Vain”, Vilhelm has established himself as an artist with remarkable potential, crafting timeless guitar- and piano-based pop enriched by solid songwriting and his distinctly husky voice.

“Together” continues Vilhelm’s tradition of bearing his soul through his music, as he expresses the complexities of moving on after a significant loss. The lyrics resonate with raw emotion, painting a vivid picture of loneliness while contemplating what might have been done differently. The authenticity of Vilhelm’s songwriting shines through, echoing his desire to convey relatable experiences through his music.

Collaborating with Isac Halldin on writing and production, “Together” showcases the seamless synergy between the two talents. The musical arrangement complements the lyrical depth, creating an immersive experience for the listener. The piano, in particular, stands out, guiding the emotional journey of the song with its evocative notes.

In the chorus, Vilhelm pleads for a shared understanding of the pain, asking if the other person has felt what he’s been through. The longing for connection and the struggle to move on are palpable, creating a universal theme that many listeners will undoubtedly resonate with.

The verses and the bridge provide additional layers to the narrative, with vivid imagery like “You’re the scars on my skin” and “You moved away, and time caught up” contributing to the overall emotional weight of the track. The bridge introduces a poignant reflection on the inevitability of time pulling people apart, yet it also carries a bittersweet acknowledgment of the enduring love that remains.

Vilhelm Buchaus has once again proven himself as a master storyteller through music, with “Together” serving as a testament to his growth as an artist. The single encapsulates the essence of heartbreak and the struggle to let go, making it a compelling addition to Vilhelm’s repertoire. As listeners, we find solace in his ability to articulate love, loss and longing, creating a musical experience that resonates deeply with our human experience. “Together” stands as a beautiful and soul-stirring entry in Vilhelm Buchaus’ evolving musical journey.
