Nur, the multitalented artist hailing from Angola and Portugal and based in London, has just unveiled her latest single, “Let Me Go”, marking a captivating shift in her musical journey.

Born Nuria, and known as Nur, she emerges from a lineage steeped in musical prowess as the daughter of Angolan singer Eddy Tussa and granddaughter of the late Roy Mukuna, a distinguished musician from Tanzania’s renowned band Maquis Original. Nur’s musical journey began at the age of 17 under the moniker Black Beautty, where she seamlessly traversed genres such as Afro-dance, Afro-pop, R&B and neo-soul, cultivating a dedicated following in both Angola and Portugal.

Five years ago, Nur embarked on a new chapter, relocating to London to pursue studies in Music Business, which served as a catalyst for her artistic evolution. Inspired by the rich cultural tapestry of London while staying tethered to her African roots, Nur rebranded herself, infusing her music with newfound influences and perspectives, thus amplifying her global appeal.

Nur’s latest offering, “Let Me Go”, is a scintillating Amapiano track that will resonate with anyone navigating through the turbulent waters of heartbreak and moving on from toxic relationships. Delving into the inspiration behind the single, Nur reveals, “The song is about freeing myself from a toxic environment. I was in a situationship with someone who clearly had feelings for me but wouldn’t commit to me. When I confronted for more responsibilities into the relationship, he denied. It’s the reason why I say in the song, ‘You had the keys yet you chose not to enter.’ From there it was a downfall. I told him to let me go but deep down it was me that needed to let him go because I couldn’t believe it was over, even if it was necessary.”

“Let Me Go” encapsulates Nur’s journey of self-discovery and empowerment, while also serving as a testament to her growth as an artist. With its infectious beats and poignant lyrics, the single is poised to captivate audiences worldwide, reaffirming Nur’s status as a rising artist to watch in the global music scene.

“Let Me Go” is out now on all platforms.
